they will breed even if there is no substrate whatsoever. However, the female will not lay her eggs unless there is some favorable medium for her to nest in. So, they will breed but if there is no vermiculite, the female will die because she will not want to lay her eggs out in the open.

Yes, leos love to breed...lol. On another note, if you are not prepared for leo eggs I strongly suggest to separate the geckos(if you were just asking for the know how, then disregard that ).

perlite or coconut husk will work: the substrate needs to be moist. Reptibark is a no-no.

They can...BUT a male can end up killing a female by stressing her out too much from trying to breed with her. They get along fine(usually) untill the male decides he wants to get some action. That is why most breeders have one male to 2 or 3 females.....to keep him from bothering one female too much. If you have 1 male and 1 female together in a cage, I suggest you separate them.

I wouldn't do regular outside dirt- you don't know what's in there or where it's been. Perlite is cheap at Home Depot or a garden center and coconut husk (Eco-Earth, Bed-A-Beast, Forest Bed) is available as bricks you soak from pet stores (also very cheap). If you're going to have eggs, better to do it right from the beginning.

Boa Enthusiast is an unknown quantity at this point
Outside dirt is a big no no! Theres so many things in it that can kill an eggs and you dont want that happening. I would go with perlite. As Ann0306 said you can get it at garden shops and hardware stores. You can get 3 bed a beast bricks up here for $15 so its a good price and one can fill up a 15 gallon.
