water from the tap is fine.... unless you have reports of nuclear waste in it. I have heard people give filtered water but there really isn't much point.

Some tap water contains too much chlorine, flouride and who knows what all else. Around here the water is pretty good, but if there are too many chemicals in it, filtering it is better. You can usually tell by tasting the water. If it tastes ok to you, it should be fine. If it tastes a bit 'off' then filter it.

I forgot to consider that, LdyDrgn. I am just completely used to the good water quality here in New York that i forgot that the water is different in other places and for William i think it's canada, right? I don't think boiling gets rid of chemicals, it just kills bacteria but you can buy a Brita filter for like 5 bucks or something and use that. (not the ones that go straight on your faucet unless you want to pay for one)

Or you can pour water in jugs and let them sit for 24 hours with no lid. All the chlorine will go bye bye.

i have never had a problem with tap water, but it may be different where you live.

juilius's suggestion is the fool proof way to go as long as you let it sit in a container for 24 hours you're good to go
