Trying to post pics
Hey guys,
Been visiting the site off and on for a while now (very helpful BTW), but never had any pics I could put up. Anyway, I finally bought a digital camera, and got some good pics, but I can't seem to be able to post them. It keeps saying that the file for just one picture is too big. Can anyone help me w/ this?
Thanks...
Steve

You will need to shrink the file size or get a photo account with us and link it externally.
You can get a photo album from us by going to http://redtailboa.net/photo.php
Our photo album is very usefull. It will allow you to upload your pictures and setup multiple albums (like different categories).

The prices for albums are much lower than any others you will find, too.

Ok, stupid question.... how do I shrink the file size?
I noticed that a lot of the pics posted in the Forum are under 200KB, but the smallest one I took is 585KB.
Being a male, I of course haven't read any of the instructions for my camera (and can't remember where I put them).

If it was me I would personally not set the camera to take small pics...mainly because you want them big for printing etc.
To shrink them you can use any photo program out there. One good one thats not very wide known is GIMP (Gnu Image Manipulation Program). Go to http://www2.arnes.si/~sopjsimo/gimp/ to download it.
FYI our photo album site automagically creates a thumbnail, and reduced size version when you upload your pics to it.
