i used to have one like the first one. he was a tough one. all the other fish in the tank were way bigger, but he held his own. so you are thinking of getting back into it? we are thinking of getting out of fish, lol. anyway, nice pics.

yah, they are very aggressive fish..can only usually be kept with certain types, and basically the same size, or else another will be food..LOL..i love the guys..and the hobby can be just as expensive as salt when you really get into it.

yeah. i have an alligator gar, and i spend more a week to feed it than ALL my snakes. i think i am gonna get rid of it and some of the others, and keep just one fishtank in the bedroom to stare at at night.

yup, that sounds about right.. my cichlids got so big, that they out grew our 55 gallon. i was going though 10$ a week in feeders.. it got expensive..not to mention the high coloration pellets i was buying..so, add 8 bucks to that..LOL..and the new filter cartridges..just like i said, its just about the same as keeping a salt tank when its all added up..only difference is, you spend more in some areas than others..fish can be expensive as well. but, thats what makes it a hobby, right?

what no Hap. livingstoni?
The Copidochromis azureus sure are pretty.
That albino Psuedotropheus looks cool too.
I just have a Julidiochromis marleri these days, used to have a pair that bred like crazy.
Also had some breeding rams, a breeding group of Neolamprologus brichardi, some Tropheus duboisi , and some Apistogramma cauqutoides (sp?)
I miss my cichlids too.
