Re: im so proud of myself LOL
Angel Fish are awesome! I was always taught to keep them three or more and there is a less chance of them being super aggressive to other fish...granted, they aren't Cichlids. But they ARE awesome fish. Congrats on the great pics!

Re: im so proud of myself LOL
actually angels are part of the cichlid family, although they are typically classified as only semi-aggressive, they are VERY capable of acting like the aggressive cichlids when they want to, LOL. thats how the two little ones got their names haha.
i have two diff types of angelfish, two wild caught peruvian altums, and 5 scalares - 3 large and 2 small. the altums and the scalares know they are different from each other, the altums always hang out on the left side of the tank, the 3 big scalares in that tank hang out on the right side. if one of them tries to wander off into the other side of the tank, they are chased off immediately LOL. the two little scalares, bundy and dahmer, are in a smaller tank with a few diff fish.
i think i may have a pair already, two of the larger scalares. whenever the altums try to cross into their side of the tank, these two will right away fend them off together. i saw them today picking off one of the amazon sword leaves on their side, im crossing my fingers for some babies!! they have not known each other for that long, so im anxious to see if a pair-bond really develops the 3rd large scalare hangs around these two alot, im thinking about getting that poor odd-one-out a buddy LOL.
despite them defending their territory against the other angelfish, they are very peaceful to the other diff species in their tanks. they could care less about the rainbowfish, danios, barbs, plecos and rams angels are such fun fish to watch, and sooo beautiful
