Synadontis cat pics
This is a big Synadontis Eupterus. Nice fish, but getting aggressive towards the other one in the tank.

They say you can only have one of those cats per tank...they will fight to the death as they mature.
Yours is beautiful though!

Mine is full grown at about 5". They are from the Rift Valley lakes in Africa, so I'm not sure they would like soft water. They're commonly kept with African cichlids, and they all seem to get along just fine. While small, you can keep them in groups but even my 135-gallon tank isn't big enough for 2 mature ones I guess. I'll have to move the smaller one to my 65-gallon.
I love catfish too, but most of them get pretty big and you could only keep 1 or 2 compatible specimens in a 500-gallon tank. Tiger shovelnose and red tails are awesome if you have the space...and a public aquarium when they get over 5'.
