Bright green water

I have a problem with my snail tank. It's fairly suddenly turned bright green. I know this is an algae bloom caused by an imbalance in the water. This tank is about a year old and is used only for breeding snails. What can I do to make it normal again? Thanks!

Barley straw maybe? I know most algacides, particularly copper based ones, kill snails.

That's what I'd heard too.

What exactly do you do with barley straw?

get a product called "P clear" or any other type of floculant that will clump your algae particles together to make them big enough to let the filter clean it

id stay away from algicides

as for the snails, " had-a-snail" its a chemical or you can introduce some "clown loaches" they will eat snails

oh sorry also, cut down on the amount of light the tank is getting, that should help dramatically
