New Fish
Hey guys, Im kind of new to the fish thing so i have a few questions:
1. can a uth be used for tropical fish?
2.Can Goldfish survive in a tropical heated aquaruim?
3.Will the fish coexist for the most part: bala shark, pictus catfish, black fin shark, gourimas, giant danio, albino claw frog,
Any advice is welcome

Gold fish are usually cold water fish, ask about the gouramis at the pet store. I think they might be fin biters, the giant danio might get a bit big. I dont know about the frog. I usually deal with lareg fish, like oscars, jack dempseys, and pacus. I havent had any small fish for years. Just double check at the pet store.

UTH's are really only for terrarium use, but a submersible heater is not a big investment at all.
What size tank do you have? The frog alone needs a good 15 gallons and will eat anything that moves.

If your room temperature is around 70 or 75 you probably dont need a heater in the tank. Also try to keep direct sunlight off of the tank, it will cause alge to grow rapidly.

as far as getting along goes, it depends on the amount and sizes of the fish and the size of the tank. for now I'd say watch them... they won't suddenly decide to tear eachother to shreds...it's a slow process that can be helped if noticed

With a pacu your looking at a fish that can get 2' in lenght. Sometimes they tend to be bullies. A blood parrot might max out to a lenght of maybe 9 to 10". I woulnt do it.

You can probably put a pacu with Oscars, jack dempseys, wolf fish, green or red terrors, red devils, snake heads, if their still legal. You can put them with irridescent sharks, alligator garrs, pike cichlids. When you introduce them together try to get fish that are about the same size.
