I have often thought that a large tank with several speckled (brook) trout and bluegills would be nice and other native fish.
Some bass would be very cool, did you know that bass are North American variation of cichlids??
a thought - walleye would make a very cool fish for a large tank wouldnt it?!?

To a degree thats true. But that only applies to South American Cichlids. Afticans are not as closely related.

Brook trout would be tough to have survive in captivity. They require cold clean, moving water. Tough to re-create that at home.
