its something we enabled to let the mods/admins know when a new user was signing up.
for now we are having to validate every user account due to the number of spammers trying to sign up.

i have found it rather pleasant as well. I am on RTB maybe 4 hours a day (No job, few real hobbies and i have seen one spam message.
