Corn Snake Feeding Question

Does the girl rule apply to corn snakes as well? I have a Ball Python and a RTB, both of which I used the girl rule to figure the size of their rats. For my corn snake, however, I feel that I'm not feeding it enough when I use the girth rule. It's skinnier than my Ball and RTB, but it is quite longer (my RTB is young). Should I feed my corn snake two prey items that are slightly smaller than the main part of its body, feed it something slightly larger than it's girth, or just use teh girth rule as I do with my boids.

Thanks,
Scott

Generally with colubrids like corns the rule is a prey item about 1 1/2 times the size of the snake's head. I sometimes feed my corn two... it just depends on how long it's been since last feeding/ if he's looking skinny or not. Corns have a pretty fast metabolism, so two prey items doesn't really hurt, I don't think.

yeah, what he said. you could follow the girth rule or two prey items. i don't think it is real important. the ones i have dealt with gobble down food pretty good and don't have problems feeding on prey items that might be difficult for another type of snake the same size.
