Plus, winter fasting has its ups. Think of the $$ you save on the food bill.

They dont ALWAYS fast, I have had several that never stopped feeding during the winter, and didnt even stop feeding while gravid, or searching for mates (males).
Have you facilitated a decrease in temps over the last 2 months?

i bought two ball pythons in early Jan and they have not eaten for me yet. They are pretty plump so I am gussing they are on their winter fast also. But luckily for me when the balls don't eat I just throught the mouse in for my snapping turtle, he is always hungry. I am sure your ball will come around.

Well, what im trying to get at is.
Dont always write off non-feeding during winter months as a typical fasting.
Sometimes there may be an actual problem.
im not trying to worry anyone, but thinking that just because its winter and its not eating, its okay, its the snakes normal fasting period.
Which is not always the case, it may cause the keeper to become complacent to a possible problem, and the animal could go untreated for a length of time for a actual health issue.
Just my take on it.
Is this a wc or cb animal? Of all the ball pythons i've had (and that number is in the dozens, with many at one time) I have only noticed a real fasting in animals that were imports, or farm raised. Captive bred/born animals that I have worked with typically dont fast from nov-march, they may skip a meal or two here and there, but never a flat refusal to take food for several months.
