Pond/Marsh Aquarium
Hey guys. I was thinkin about doing a new kind of set up. I wanted to take a tank and use a type of plastic and silicon it to the middle of the tank, to be used as a divider. Half would be all quatic like a pond, and the other half would be a marsh or some type of wetland. Do you guys know any good type of organisms i can put in there? I was thinking along the lines of a salamander with a frog... And in the pond area I would have some feeder fish and a aquatic filter? I also wanted to use some pond plants as well. The only pond plant i could think of was duckweed any others?

Sorry but I only know saltwater when it comes to fish and whatnot.
I will say that your idea is very nice, but I just want to warn you that keeping a setup like that will require alot of cleaning and maintence. Luckily in a saltwater enviroment you can get cleanup crews which consist of snails, hermit crabs and shrimp. These cleanup crews when done right make it where all you have to do to maintain you tank is 10-20% water changes.
The best advice I can give you is to study up on freshwater setups and hope to find something similar to what you have.
I do like the idea.
I have also seem a Tank in a Tank setup. Sounds weird but its actually one large tank with another smaller on the inside. People alot of times put fish on the inside and small reptiles in the bigger tank.

Aren't there also freshwater cleaning crews like cat fish and other fish that I enjoy calling sucker fish and i think there are fresh water snails? These can be used in a pond setup.

If you're gonna use snails, go for something bigger like Apple Snails. Regular creek snails or pond snails reproduce so fast it's sick! Also, careful on your cats, some need heat, and channel cats (blue cats) grow fast! Scum suckers live thru anything, you could use that I bet...
