I actually put my rats in a plastic bag from wal mart or something (to catch the blood) and hit them against the dumbell. The thing about cervical dislocation for rats is that there tails have been known to pop off and then you have a #$%^$%^$%^$%^$%^$%^& off tailess rat.

YOUR SICK KOGOZ!
Wak-a-Rat really isn't that messy actually. I hardle even get bleeders when doing it now. I just use pillow cases that are for such here only and then just wash em when done is all.

I prefer the "Order them online pre-frozen" method. That way I don't have to do any of the actual killing. But back when I did, I used a pillowcase.

Barrin, the dislocation technique isn't hard. Grab the rat by the tail, use a ruler or something similar and hold it's head down on a flat surface and pull the tail up hard. If enough force is applied, it will dislocate the rat's cervical and kill it instantly. Perhaps the pillowcase and whack technique is better as long as you don't act like your beating some crook up. I have been breedin my own rats lately.
In fact I had one of my mammas give birth to seven 4 weeks ago.
I think that they will be reddy for my jcp in a couple of weeks if not sooner...
Ive been feedin them High proteine dog food...
I herd that the reason for them eatin their yung was because of lack of Protein so I got High protein dogy food for them and plain penuts too. I use pest strips to keep the bugs and stuff out and try to keep their cage as cleen as posible...
I used the wood from my old kitchen table and made their cage. I got callases all over my hands on that one because the wood was so strong and my hand saw was soo dull...
oh well their new home looks good I sanded it all down and drilled air holes in the top for them and one in the side for the water thing.
~~~~any ways~~~
Peace!
yeah captain I know of a couple that are sellin and buyin and talkin and catchin and what ever
peace...
