which came first the rat or the snake?
when feeding is it better to put the rat in the feeder and then put the snake in or put the snake in the feeder and then add the rat?
i'm just trying to figure out a way to do this without joining your "bleeders club"

Put the snake in first, then the rat, with tongs if needed.
If you put the rat in first, then there is a chance that the snake could smell food and see you as warmth and be confused and wrap and bite you.

Snake first. Tongs are key when approaching with the rat. One of my guys -- normally calm and sweet -- is so twitchy when food is around that I sometimes put him in his feed tub before I even start thawing the rat! When I do it the other way around, he can smell that sucker clear across the kitchen, and he gets that look in his eye when he regards my hands... thought bubble over head reads "Hooray! Now is when I get to bite and squeeze!" Scared o' that...

Snake first. I made the mistake of putting in the rats first and when my snake smelled the rat when putting her in, she turned and struck at me. Man talking about doing a dance... I was lucky on that one.

I vote snake first too
as far as chickens and eggs...I say the rooster likely came first.
