Who's your pickiest eater?
I'm just curious as to what type of snake is the pickiest eater for everyone out there. My ball python, Isabella, turns down about every fourth meal. She just will have nothing to do with it. She always takes the next meal as long as I wait a few days but when she doesn't want a meal, she will have absolutely nothing to do with it!

Probably my two newest jungle carpets...I bought them as adults and they are in that "I'm 6 feet long but I want to eat mice" mindset. Closest I have to a picky eater, none of my guys ever refuse meals.

My BP is the same way. Most of the time I can not re-offer the same meal twice.

Yeah, my female bp is pretty much the same way. She doesn't hesitate to ditch the scene if she doesn't want a meal. She hasn't eaten in almost 2 months now.

Have those Jungles ever taken a rat?
Fortunately for me, all 3 of my snakes never refuse a mouse. My two carpets do refuse rats, but they are always eager for mice.

Re: Who's your pickiest eater?
That would have to be my Rough Scale Sand Boa, Mrs. Puff. SOMETIMES she will eat f/t. Sometimes she will go on a feeding strike. And because I can't stand it when she doesnt eat, and her mate of the same age is already BIGGER than her (not typical for male RSSB's), I buy a couple of live fuzzies. Then she eats. Sometimes. If she feels like it.
...she thinks she's a princess. lol
I do have Rubber boas, which are picky eaters by nature, so that's normal. lol

Re: Who's your pickiest eater?
That's a toss up between my ball pythons Nathan and George, my foster dog Baxter, and me. >.>
George and Nathan are BOTH chronic fasters. George just ate last weekend off of a 3 month strike, and Nathan is on month 2, still no food. They both do this all the time, and are both completely healthy otherwise.
Baxter will not eat on carpet. He will not eat on rugs. He has to take his food out of the dish, place it on the floor and examine it before he'll eat it. Some kibbles don't pass his exacting standards, and I'm not sure why.
And me, well, my tastes change so drastically that Will can't take me out to surprise dinners because chances are, what's been my favorite place to eat for the last 3 years is now on my "omg that's so disgusting I can't even think about it" list. And what was absolutely delicious yesterday, will now make me vomit if I so much as smell it.
So yeah. I feel bad for Will, him putting up with me putting up with my annoying feeding habit animals. >.> Poor guy. LOL

Thats okay my rottweiler would only eat the CHEAP kind of dog food after I'd gone through every other brand trying to get him to eat, and even then he would only take it if I poured it on the ground outside, not in a bowl, not in the house but outside in the dirt...

Re: Who's your pickiest eater?
My 1.5 yr old BP, Kobi, and my 2.5 mo old Anery BCL, Bentley. Kobi flees the scene when she doesn't want to eat....she wants so badly to escape from the big bad scary f/t small rat LOL. Bentley, well, Bentley is just too chill. She's like "the waterboy" (the movie) -- you gotta get her mad before she'll do her thing LOL. It seriously takes irrtating her with the pink before she will strike.
.
My other two, Jezi (suri BCC) and Riley (scrub) are garbage disposals. Neither of them have ever refused a meal lol.

Not that I know of. Former owner said he tried switching them, but never succeeded. I haven't had them for too long, only a few weeks, and so far they are steadfastly refusing my efforts.

Re: Who's your pickiest eater?
All of my snakes tend to eat pretty much on command. Misty doesn't like mice, though. I tried a jumbo adult, and she literally turned up her nose at it! But the second I tossed her a f/t rat of equal size, that thing was g-o-n-e!
Odie (bts) absolutely hates spinach. I chop up all of his food real fine so he can't pick and choose, but if there's a piece of anything green on top of the pile, he won't eat it. I usually have to coax him with some chicken or banana. If that doesn't work, I have to put some on my fingers and let him chomp on them while eating the food.
