This post was relocated from Trading post due to content making it a feeding issue. A new thread has been started for the sale of this snake.
TY Admin.
hi all
buddha is looking for a new home!!
she is very friendly, loves exercise and loves to be handled, especially by ladies(go figure! hey its the 21st century what can i say!) she loves a warm lap and enjoys curling up and taking a nap in any willing candidate, usually after a good workout...
the specs:
age: 5
sex: never(haha!) ...buddha is a female
length: 6'
width: 4"
height: 4"
head length: 3"
head width: 2"
diet: domestic sized rabbit about once every 2 1/2 weeks.... if you don't have the heart to feed her rabbits im sure she wouldnt argue about eating rats, however she has become a custom to the fight(or lack there of) from a rabbit(which i believe adds to her friendliness) so take caution if you plan on changing the resilience of her diet...
the dilemma:
i'm out of school and looking for new residence and new career, which i know will inevitably lead to neglect....i'm praying i can find her a new worthwhile home where she can really stretch her scales and strut her stuff
$400+
open to suggestions and/or negotiations
thanx! peace!
redtail_lover

Please, do your snake a favor, at least for as long as you have her. Switch her to prekilled prey or frozen/thawed ASAP. It will make it easier on whoever buys her, as most people here who would buy a snake this size will switch her anyway. It would be easier probably to switch her and get her used to it BEFORE she goes to a new home. It is also dangerous for her to be eating live prey, whether rats or rabbits, as they can injure or kill her. Just a little advice, and good luck

the reason we were wondering if you were feeding live rabbits or not is because it is not incouraged. it could cause harm to your animal, most here feed either fresh killed or frozen thaw. the only acception to live is if it is absolutely necessary.

thanx for the advice...ill consider it immediately....although if a live rabbit can kill a six-foot boa the food chain is in a load of trouble

i know it sounds hard to believe but that little harmless lookin bunny can kill that 6 foot boa. another reason to feed prekilled i find is it makes the snakes calmer. my burm has always been fed prekilled and will practically take a rat out my hand with finess. its just better to feed prekilled, we arent jumpin your case just informing you. and and welcome to RTB.

Actually you should see some of the pictures of what rats have done to snakes, its very brutal. Sometimes the food chain does not always go as planned. Anyway, if the snake you are offering is a normal female columbian redtail, lots of times you cannot find homes to take them, if it is an exeptional normal you may find someone to take it around $150 or so. The price you are asking seems a little high and it may be hard to find a buyer at that price, just as a heads up.
