Well, I'm about ready to order more rats for Sethra. I have 3 small rats left (rodent-pro size), and I'm wondering if I should order more of the same size, or move up to the medium rats. Here is a picture of her feeding last night with a small rat.

I measured her tonight at 40" long. She has grown 6 inches in the last 2 months. She is just about 8 months old now. Also, I am still feeding her about every 7 days as she starts getting very active in prowling about the viv if I go much longer than that. Should I push back the feeding schedule anyway?

I would go bigger, b/c I don't even see a buldge...and I think the 7 days is still an ok sched, but you could push it back till 10 days and still be good...I'm sure someone with more experience will be along to answer better for you.

I would up it a bit. if the prey doesn't make a bulge in its belly it's time to move up. I wouldn't be concerned with the growth. More than likely just a growth spurt. I even use a 7 day schedule on my adults, just makes it easy to keep everyone on time.

Coferi, of course there is no bulge...it's his first rat in a week, and he is eating it now. LOL Yeah, you can move up to medium rats...you still have a 3 weeks supply of prey left, anyway.

Ok, the picture is a little better sized now . I guess I'll be going with the mediums, and see if I can push the schedule out to 10 days without her getting to antsy for food.
