Question on what to feed.
Okay, so I bought my little guy who is a montha and a few days old.
Supposedly it was fed live fuzzy mice. Which I think is pretty small.
I have some frozen hopper mice that I have leftover from a BP that doesn't eat frozen. So I was thinking of feeding my RTB those, even though I don't know if it eats frozen or live yet. If it did then it would be all good.
Then I hear rats are better, and when it grows it will NEED rats.
if I do feed it these mice for now, will it be a B to get him to switch to rats later on?

Re: Question on what to feed.
I would switch him over right away... I start all of my baby boas on day old pink rats... they never see a mouse!

Re: Question on what to feed.
bci right? he can do at least rat pups if available. live to frozen thawed switchover is pretty easy with a bci, especially a baby, and absolutely preferred, as I'm sure you've read.

Re: Question on what to feed.
I'm going against the grain again (partially). Feed the hopper mice to your boa. Maybe once every 2 days, two at a time, whatever. I'd just feed to get rid of them. Rat pups are the way to go for sure, but it isnt going to hurt your bci at all, nor will it be a hard switch later on. Even if you want to feed a rat pup and a hopper mouse at the same feeding.
Again, I'd feed them just to get rid of them.

you think? for some reason, when I buy frozen... they are much smaller then when I am forced to buy fresh killed. 50cents cheaper a piece for frozen instead of fresh killed sucks when you have to step up a size... but I digress. anyhow, bci are good eaters. Look at your snake at its widest spot, and when you go to purchase its food, get it at 1 1/4 the size of the snake. start it off good!
