Tried to feed ELVIRA AAIN WITH NO LUCK...i TRIED THE LIGHTS OUT CAGED COVERED..nothing.REMOVED IT THE NEXT MORNING......SHE IS DRINKING WATER....ughhhhhhh caps sorry......and has a clean bill of health......Guess ill try again in a few days.

Yes.. her last meal according to her previous owner was 10/04
But who can say.....she didnt really have proper living conditions...I will just leave it at that..I keep offering every few days......SHOWS NO INTEREST AT ALL>

she was fed live before I got her..........tried that.I KNOW PLEASE NO LECTURES...she didtn take it....wont take prekilled....or f/t

Don't worry, i am not going to lecture you!!! ummm... what i found that worked was:

getting the bedding from a live feeder cage (including the poop and pee) and then put a rat in the bag and shake it up really good (leave it in theire for like 10 mins) so it absorbs all of the smells. Try it to see if you get any response...tease and play it in front of the snake!!

live before, and tried all 3 types (pre killed, f/t and live) i believe!!!

she was eating live before..........tried live, f/t, and prekilled, have not offered the same rat twice.but have offered like the live twice,f/t same and prekilled once
no interest in any of it

no no no, I meant mice or rats. Was she feeding on rats previously?? Because if she was feeding on mice, and you're offering her rats, maybe that is the issue. Some boas and pythons don't like to make the switch.

Bubba, I do not remember the particulars of your situation (what kind of boa), how old, etc. Can you post the link to the story or post some pics with boa size/age? The BCC's can be very finicky, so I'm looking to see if that's what you have. If so, I have gone through the same thing with mine. First, you have to really leave her alone for 3-4 days in between offering her food. Second, when NOTHING else worked for my BCC, after 6 weeks of fasting, I offered him live mice. I did not turn the mice loose but dangled them in front of him (no one chastise me for this, please). He ate 4 of them. It was the last resort. I boarded him at the reptile store to see if they could get him to eat. They tried everything and he wouldn't eat. It was there that I offered him the mice and he snarfed them up. Worth a try. It is the only time I have ever fed live and went back to p/k rats afterward.

	Boa Constrictor Constrictor Red Tail Boa Constrictor (Boa constictor constrictor). Refers to "true" red tail boas such as the Guyana and Suriname locales.

Sorry had a couple really hectic days .been really busy......Evil Elvira is the redtail Boa that was stressed out and my hubby posted that it bit me.....I have posted pics of her.....anyway she has been here since the beginning of oct, and hasn't eaten yet..she has urinated and left me a nice pile of that lovely boa poo....But she is easily freaked.....once she is touched or held after being placed back in her cage she runs for the water bowl and stays there for a couple hours...she will not use a hide box, and absolutely hates any change.....its kinda frustrating really.....she was fed live by previous owner and she kinda has what I call a hair lip so i'm sure she has been bitten by a rat, as she does have a few scars.....I'm just re offering every few days...will let ya know when she finally decides to eat...vet said they can sometimes go for months without eating, as long as she is taking in water(which she is doing).......like i said it's just frustrating.
