Does anyone know if any rodent after being killed with rat poison is edible for a snake? The reason I ask is because I really don't like the wacking method. How does the rat poison work? Is it fast acting? I suspect it's not suitable otherwise someone else would've thought of it by now, right?

NO!
NEVER!
NOT AT ALL!
The poison will do to the snake as it did to the snake.
It will kill the snake.
Order frozen or if ya can't, get some one else to do the whacking or make a gas chamber and use CO2 to seal their fates just like all the rodent companies do.
But no matter what, under NO circumstances feed ANY snake ANY food that has died from anything other than a sharp whack, cervical dislocation or CO2.

Very well put Eddie
But just in case any one might have missed the point.....
DO NOT FEED A SNAKE ANYTHING THAT WAS KILLED BY ANY MEANS OTHER THAN WHACKING, CERVICAL DISLOCATION, OR CO2!!!!!

Dani, once you whack your first rat, it is no longer a problem. You get over it....(besides, whacking or cervical dislocation is much more humane than poison anyway. )

i have to agree with lady on this one its a piece of cake after the first one or two you get used to it and think of it this way you're doin the rat the justice of putting it out of its misery before the snake can wrap it up and squeeze it to death

I've wacked mice before, and I think that I could get better at it, but I'd prefer not to do it, that's why I asked. I don't know of any companies in Spain that sell frozen rodents (I don't think they exist here), so I'm having to wack them myself. Does the CO2 work as fast/slow as putting them in a jar with a lid until they die off from no oxygen? I read that somewhere as a technique. Is it the same but takes longer?
Sometimes when I don't wack hard enough the first time I end up with a mutilated mouse and when I start my BP on rats (which I take are stronger) they will probably take a bigger swing to kill. I just want to use a method that will kill 100% of the time without having to repeat the process But just to put your minds at rest, I have NEVER used rat poison nor do I intend to.
In the States, where do you guys buy the CO2? Just so that I could check on the equivalent over here. Thanks for your replies.

CO2 is used as an emergency tire inflate (sold in bicycle shops) and also used for whipped cream (in coffee shops and restaurants). The CO2 chamber works faster than just suffocating them. However, here is a link so you can build your own at home:

The "fog" you see comming off dry ice is CO2. a lot of people here just put some dry ice in a small tub of water in a small tank with the rats. Also, I have a post on here somewhere that I found where the Gas that is given off when you mix Viniger and Baking Soda together is CO2. I tried it and it DID put them to sleep BUT I didn't have enough in the tank and the dang things woke back up... Basically a low dose will put them to sleep and when they get fresh air they will come back. A high dose will kill them.
***edit Just saw that someone remembered where it was and posted it. THANKS

I know some people that use CO2 for killing large numbers of rats. You get a plastic bag and a canister of CO2, you break the seal on the canister and let the bag fill. I've seen it done and it seems rather humane, and definately painless. Better than rat poison the way I see it. Dry ice I hear also works but the canister method seems easier to me.
