Usable

I got a rat order today and 2 bags were thawed out but still cold. I threw them straight into the freezer. I also contacted the vendor and got that part taken care of. I'm wondering if the two bags are usable. They're frozen now.

Re: Usable

is the vendor replacing them? Even if they are not, do you want to take that chance?

Re: Usable

I've been told that Rats/mice can be re-frozen once, but i personally never take the risk.. Better to be safe than sorry

Re: Usable

how many bags were there in the order and how cold did the thawed ones stay? Microbe growth starts to really kick in at 40 degrees...but meat quality deteriorates with multiple thawings and freezings. Ultimately, it's your call, and if the vendor is replacing them, you've got nothing to lose but free rats by throwing them away.
