So... I'm new at this and alittle confused. I recently heard that "the biggest mistake" is over feeding your snake. One can feed to often and end up hurting your snake's digestive system? at the same time I hear if you want your snake to grow faster.... feed it more often? Should your feeding schedule be different in the summer vs. winter?? are feeding schedules different for a hatchling vs. a juvenal snake?
I'm currently feeding my 3-month old RTB every 5-day's 2ea. F/T rat pups, it seems happy?
Does anyone have a SIMPLE feeding schedule available?
thank for any help,
-Robert

THE BIGGEST QUESTION IS IS IT GOING TO THE BATHROOM? IF IT IS THAN YOU SHOULD BE ALRIGHT. I WOULD NOT GO MORE THAN 3 FEEDINGS WITHOUT SEEING SOME POO IN THE TANK.

Yes... usually a POO before each feeding...
so given that, it's really that simple?
No frequency changes to the feeding schedule required between summer vs. winter? or feed less often to older snakes vs. hatchlings??

Try giving her a bath in luke warm water for about 1/2 hour. Feel her around her rear end if you feel hard little balls gently massage back there, gently being the key word.
What is your feeding schedule and have you had a regurgitations?

I think 3 mice at one feeding isn't good. Try going with a fuzzy rat on a 7 day cycle. One or two prey items will digest better than 3, I'm surprised you haven't had a regurge yet. Are you feeding frozen/thawed? A fuzzy rat from Rodentpro should be plenty for a 2 month old bci unless its unusually large.

My bci is 26" long. I wa told to give 3 mice every 5 days by my vet because when i first got her she was under weight and possibly aneamic, do you think a boa that size should have 3 then or not. I cant order from rodent pro because i dont know if they deliver to the uk and i dont have access to a credit card and my local dealer of mice and rats only sells rats that are too large for her. I am going to try the warm bath for a coulple of days so i hope it works. And i cant feel no little balls by her back end eigher. Oh yeah i feed her frozen/thawed.

One of the reasons you aren't seeing any poo is cause the mice aren't enough for what she needs.
She is literally using all of what she eats.
This sisn't good for her system in the long run.
Can you buy live rats, the correct size, then whack them, freeze and use as feeders then?
If ya keep her on mice, then she will have some starvation issues to deal with in the long run as well....

What about my original question of what feeding schedule is required between summer vs. winter? or feed less often to older snakes vs. hatchlings?? thanks Joeuk for jumping in...
I'll assume with no replies to my questions above means it's not the critical...
thanks anyway,
-Robert

No change up needed for it, unless its one that comes off feed for the winter.
But keep the same schedule, once every 5 - 7 days for now.
