my bci has gone 3 almost 4 weeks without feeding. before this she fed every week no problem on frozen/thawed. She just shed and defacated and I tried feeding again and she wouldn't eat. She seems fairly active , but hasn't been hiding in her hides as much , she is about 4.5 feet. I have been feeding her medium rats , I am very worried she is sick, does anyone have any input?? Please help .

thanks

Sounds strange to me... bci's are normaly good eaters and 7 months of good eating is a good indicator that the tank is set up right.
3-4 weeks still isn't that much time, I'd say try a couple of more times with f/t and maybe then, if it doesn't work, try f/k just for a little jump start... also, you might want to try starting her up with something smaller than normal like a small rat or even a rat pup.

Wow, I have exactly the same problem. My Angus stopped eating about 4 weeks ago. Nothing has changed in his environment. I have had him for a year, eats every week a large rat.

I am going to try a medium rat in a couple of days to see if he goes for it...

On my thread Eddie sugested he might be going through a slow shed. But yours just shed, and mine are usually starving right after shed/poop.

Hi,
To bad you didn't take that poo to a Vet for a check, I had a med argie that went off feeding suddenly full of worms, I finally convinced the vet to worm her, and one week to the day she was a chow hound again, Forzen thawed only though, don't want any more pesky worms.
She should be checked anyway they can give an appetite boosting vit shot, I had a python that repsonded to this, they can also give her a little Gatorade via stomach tube this can perk up a snake. The longer you waith the harder it can be to turn her around.
Good luck Are you meausuring the humidty in her tank.
Doug
Be sure your vet knows herps. SOme vets shouldn't see dogs much less snakes.

ok i may have figured out my problem i monitored the cool side of the tank today and it was 86 so im guessing this may be the problem ???? If it is what exactly will i have to do to get her feeding again , besides lowering the temp.

just give the snake time to settle down if your cool side temp was too high. I don't know about you.. but when its a really hot day out i don't like to eat all that much. I had the same problem.. the cage was hotter then i thought. Once i got the temps right about 5 days later my snake ate just fine.
