Seems like certain snakes eat headfirst, and others don't really care. I love that quote Ken, I couldn't agree more if I tried.

lmao...my ball python did that the first few feedings. But he got the hang of it eventually. Don't worry about it, your snake is fine!

Ya you have nothing to worry about. BTW I have seen one of my snakes eat a rat sideways it was quite a site to see that snake fold that rat in half.

my tegu takes mice sideways sometimes, but her eating is a lot more intence than any snake I've ever seen ! txgirl probably knows what I'm talkin' about, when "Shamika" is eatin' she's gettin' down! the food that actually makes it into her mouth ends up goin down however it can get there! backwards, sideways, upside down, smashed, sqished, anyway It'll get there ! -Juggalo

Hahaha...I have been trying to get online here to post about this too!
So funny that someone else posted it first!
My BRB eats the first mouse head first but then the second one butt first. I guess she doesn't want to have the second one feel embarrased about having its nose in the other ones butt

Okay- have the same problem with a baby Ball python. Eats everyone of them backwards. My additional concern is the fact that he refuses to eat dead rodents but will happily eat live ones fine. It's a problem because he never really gets around to killing them before he starts swallowing. Even the final gulp you can see the pinky gerbil moving around very much alive in his mouth. NOW- what do you do about that?
