I have a BCI that is now rougly 4 months old, 24" long, and 1.25" diameter.
I had been feeding it a hopper mouse (frozen/thawed) once a week and it appears to be getting very hungry about three days after the feeding. I attempted to feed it two mice at the last feeding and it regurged both about two or three hours after it ate them. I waited two weeks after the regurg and fed him one hopper, he kept it down just fine.
There are only two or three hopper mice left so I am considering going up to adult mice or rats.
What size rat should I go up to?
Is it better to feed a larger single item as opposed to several smaller ones, or does it make any difference at all?

Ok, it needs to be on rats anyways cause mice just ain't that great for a growing boa.
But the girth rule of feeding is, the thickest part of the snake, is the size ya need food to be.
And a good schedule for now would be once every 7 days on the feedings.
When it gets to about 3 feet long, bump up to every 10 days.

also when you're looking at girth, stretch out the rodent longways then compare girth. they seem fatter when they're just sitting, not stretched out. -Juggalo

True Juggs!
( hehe, I called ya Juggs!)
And this is easier to do with a whacked or frozen thawed as they are more likely to lie there and be stretched out.
