Hey, guys...well, I took a pic of Leo eating lastnight, and got a good shot of the comparison of the two, along with a good pic which shows the scales stretched apart to the skin underneath. Anyway, my question is, is this mouse big enough, and if so, is feeding him one every 7 days enough? (That's my current schedule.) I plan to switch to rats when the remaining 3 mice are eaten. (bought F/T) The pics are on my website, they are the last two. Sorry...don't know how to post pics in here yet Thanks!!! It looks like the mouse is about the right size for him.
Since you are swapping to rats any ways, go ahead and get them, and have one mouse ready to scent the rat just in case he doesn't immediately take it.
You can leave the mouse frozen for this.
Any ways, on the feeding, just go by the girth rule with the food size, (food items should be about as big around as the snakes biggest point.) and feed him on a 7 day schedule for a while, with every 3 - 4 feedings give him a little extra on that feed day.
Usually two slightly smaller than normal food items will work great for this.
Once he gets about 5 feet long, change up to about every 9 - 10 days between feedings
He will get there quickly also.

good to hear. This mouse leaves quite a lump in his stomach, but I *really* don't want another Thumper incident. I would have bought rats, but the guy said mice were better at this size; due to their naturally smaller size, they grow their bones at a smaller size. ANYWAY...now that I know he was blowing smoke up my butt and just didn't have rats, and wanted to sell me SOMETHING...I'll stick with the rats. so that size every 7 days is enough, and not too much? It *would* be cool to have him grow larger faster, but I don't want to power feed him...Anyway, thanks guys...and thanks, Eddie for posting that pic for me. Looking at the pic properties, I know how to add them now
