Are you talking about the cat or the snake? and can you specify "snatched up my cat"?

And what were you doing with the cat loose near the snake to begin with? Not to mention:
<TABLE BORDER=0 ALIGN=CENTER WIDTH=85%><TR><TD><font class="pn-sub">Quote:</font><HR></TD></TR><TR><TD><FONT class="pn-sub"><BLOCKQUOTE> The other day was feeding time </BLOCKQUOTE></FONT></TD></TR><TR><TD><HR></TD></TR></TABLE>
You're just asking for trouble, dude. Just be thankful you were able to rescue the cat...or didn't you and this is why you're asking?

~whoa...I hope you are feeding your snake like in a feeder box...okay...I don't have a problem with mice, rats, rabbits......but cats? I can only imagine the damage a cat would do!! And I am sorry that is pretty sick!! My husband and I are still (okay mostly me) considering whether or not to get a kitten for our daughter for her birthday or Christmas....course the rule would be that when ANY of the snakes are out the cat would be in a crate somewhere. I have to agree with phaedrus....you are headed towards trouble...so please feed your snake away from the cats...just my .02 worth. ~sigh~

CATS ARE NOT FEEDERS! If nothing else, for the simple fact that 1. The cat can seriously injure the snake (you can't just smack them against your boot to stun them ) And 2. I have heard that carnivorus prey is not good for herps.
Plus, we own cats. And I think that a cat could take out many types of snakes. Maybe not the diamondback or the anaconda, but definately a ball python.
At least PETA and the HSUS probably don't frequent herp sites

Last story I heard about something feeding a kitten to a snake, the person went to jail
And unless it's a very small kitten, a cat is likely to f- up your ball python. Keep em apart

Cats are shooters not feeders!
Although accidents do happen...
But did the snake actually consume the cat or did you save it?

Forgot this...
If he did consume it, watch out for impaction as the cats bones are much thicker than a rodents, especially the skull.

A cats natural instinct is to kill snakes. I've got two bp and 3 cats and I just can't see my bp eating any of my cats. My cats are to big for them to eat for one and they are never fed where a cat can get in the way.
Hopefully your bp didn't get hurt.

Well see this is how it happened, i had my 7ft ball python in a big box and i went to get a rabbit for it and when i got back i saw him snatch up one of my cats that isnt ussually inside and i couldnt get it away from him. when he was done strangling it to death i went to try and get the cat away from him but he hissed at me and struck and i wasnt ganna bother him.My only guess is the cat jumped in the box to play around or somethin and the python thought it was food. Accidents happen...
Try to get use a coverd or lidded box in the future.
Any ways, just watch for impaction.

I'm puzzled over that myself BW.
My biggest bp is about 5.5 feet, is 5 years old and eats rats, when I can get her to eat.
Do you have a picture of your snake you could post?

7 feet............
Might want to see if that is a Burmese Python. Even 5 feet for a ball python is pretty large. I have to see pics before I swallow this one.

I'm just basically guessing, I've never been any good with measurements and it would be to easy to get the tape measure and see.

I have had snakes that I thought were 5 feet and turned out being 4, and some that I thought were 4 feet and ended up being 5. Sometimes it is hard to judge length. But who knows, it may be 7 feet. Just doubt it.

Call Guiness.... Oh and oder me a 6 pack too while your on with them. 7'er huh. Must inject prey with radiation or steroids or something? I think were bein had here. Although I have heard of people way out in the middle of nowhere feeding stray cats to large Pythons. Actully was told of someone in Australia hat has a 14' Scrub Python, who runs a stray cat relocation center. I really don't think I need to say where the cats were relocated to do I? I am by no means condoning this action. Yes A cat can seriously screw up a snake. It's not a good idea to do and yes cats carry fleas and other parasites. All I'm sayin. I would like to see a picture of it myself. I agree that it's probably a burmese if it's 7 ft and eating rabbits.
