There are many online suppliers that will deliver frozen rodents right to your door. You might have to buy a hundred at once or so, but they'll keep in the freezer for a while - especially if you split them up into bags of what you'll use per month and vacuum seal them.
Breeding rats isn't difficult, but its one more thing to clean, feed and otherwise care for. Plus, they aren't going to breed on any sort of schedule. So one time you might get a whole bunch of litters, one after another, and then you may not get any for months. So you'd need several females to make sure you're getting a regular supply. Its a lot of extra work to feed one or two snakes.
