i finally got my snake to eat something other than live fish, canned tuna. I have a garter snake and he seems to like the tuna more than live fish now but i still have to scent the tuna. So is canned tuna healthy?

Not really. Canned tuna does not supply a full compliment of vitamins & minerals unles you heavily supplement it. Your snake would be best served if you stuck with a diet of whole animals.

Tuna is processed.

However, an option is pieces of fish fillet cut to appropriate size. These of course have to be vitamin dusted, as Najaboy alluded to. I've been feeding my watersnakes fish fillet for many months and they're growing very well. But I also feed them fish twice a month, just to get some of that whole animal nutrition (scales, organs that good stuff)
