hey all
i was just looking at the liard forum and ran across a couple peolpe saying that you should only feed enough crickets that the animal can eat in 15 minutes. i always thought you just drop a lot in the tank and they will eat them when they want to.

The problem with crickets is that they like to nibble, and you could find lizard sans a few pieces and parts. If you do opt to leave crickets in your lizard's enclosures, be sure that there is food & water available to them.

i don't leave any crickets in with my dragons
it just seems to stress them out having crickets crawling all over them and they seem to feed better when i introduce food to them at feeding time instead of having food always in the cage
like najaboy said, crickets will nibble on your pets
also, crickets do poop and stuff - not much, but they do and i personally keep my cages extremely clean

just my opinion though, i know people that just load the cage full

Personally, I start with a very few number of crickets. If I come back in 30 minutes and they're all gone, next time I put in 2-3 more. When I get to a point where there are a 2-3 left, I know I've hit the right number, or pretty close.
