At least one of the neighbors interviewed had a decent attitude about it. Nancy Steele (the lady in red about 40ish riding a bike) She said if he can keep it maintained and monitored in a safe enclosure (inside) she doesn't see why he cannot keep it.

yeah its a shame to see a snake make negative news, and especially when its removed from its owner under such crappy circumstances, overall the snake looked healthy and well kept IMO. Of course, I didnt see the cage, but it didnt look to be in bad shape at all.

"the old guy's snakes were all killed (even his 100% legal canebrakes, coppers and cottons) and the false water cobra was thrown in a freezer to kill it since it was so deadly and no one could handle it"

That is incredbly depressing. People need to get over this "fear" of creepy crawlers. I have a 6 year old cousin whos mother has told her that spiders kill people. That anything like a "bug" will hurt her. She screams bloodly murder when a house fly goes anywhere near her. And don't even mentiont he word "snake" or "repitile". Her father is my uncle, and he has no clue what to do. He loves snakes and spiders, much like myself, and is terribly upset that his ex-wife would teach his daughter that.
Sorry, off topic rant....
