attention herp related photographers, webmasters and authors!
Please forward this to everyone you know who has is a herp related photographer, webmaster, or author.
grizzlyrun.com has taken entire paragraphs of text and images from my book and website without permission. Google searches reveal that they have also taken entire paragraphs of text from other herp related websites.
If you have a herp related website, book, or photos that you have taken, please review the website carefully and contact the webmaster and have the material removed if you find your material on this site.
I just spoke with the webmaster by phone and he is (supposedly) removing the material that is stolen from me.
(He and his ISP will also have a DMCA notice as soon as I can get one in the mail on monday)
The link to the herp section of this site is
http://www.grizzlyrun.com/Pets/Repti...es/Default.htm
This site goes WAY beyond just using a pic without permission, they are scraping entire herp sites and putting advertising all around the stolen material.
Please forward this to everyone you know who is a herp photographer, herp webmaster or herp author.

That site is horrible. Click on the boa link and read their garble on mites lol. I'd quote it but given the circumstances, probably not a good idea lol.

Karen and I think we recognize the basin pic in the emerald information and it doesn't belong to them.

That site is valueless to the person seeking real info, and potentially a problem for someone who doesn't know good info from bad. It's cobbled together from many sources and is designed to do only one thing as far as I can tell.. expose the viewer to as many ads, banners and links as possible. It's slick, and can tell where you are from your URL so as to present a subset of ads targeted to your area.
.
The whole deal is a trojan horse by info-miners and pay-by-the-hit web advertisers.. Today at least, with us all viewing it.. it's working.

Apparently enough complaints have been made that the site has been "parked" by Go Daddy and can not be viewed as of this morning.
