The change may be taking place on this coming Monday, depending on how the fight to keep the current domain name goes...

Redtailboa.net and .org is changing names to ReptileHaven.net and .org

The autobilling function of register.com failed to get natas the bill for the renewal...it may have been due to mass/spam mail filtering or they may have just failed to send it. At any rate, natas didn't get it. The domain expired and a web pirate snapped up both rtb.net and .org. I sent an email to them to negotiate getting them back. They are holding them for 1500.00 ransom each. There is nothing legally we can do about it. Once a domain expires, it is free game. I don't think anyone here wants to deal with web pirates. So we changed the name. Yes this sucks. Yes we are angry. But we will get through this. Nothing about the namechange will change anything about the site...it is the same and shall remain the same. Once everyone gets used to it, it won't be any big deal. Mass emailing 3000 people seems to be a problem for the mail server to handle though so for now, please help spread the word and inform anyone you know of where we are now until we can sort it out and get everyone emailed in the RTB user database.

$1500 each??? heck, we can build the site back with a new name. We didnt loose our members just the name. It's a shame there are people out there that do this kind of crap just for the money. I say we all flood thier e-mail. Over 3000 e-mails it might at least give them a headache.

The email accounts should come back into sync in a few days np once the dns for the rtb domain kicks in.
Slap... We shouldn't have even lost the dang thing. the billing cycle for the domain should have expired in November..NOT January. So that doesn't make sense in regards to why we lost the domain at all. [img]modules/Forum/images/smiles/icon_confused.gif[/img]
