Some site changes that are coming for RTB....

The site speed is the major thing that has been worked on as of lately for RTB. With the really slow loading that was experienced recently on the site..this has taken a priority to the site's new coding overall. An uptake on the site's speed should be noted within the next week's time by members as a result of this.
Also the photo albums are being moved from the current server to a new one. Won't change the album page addys..I hope not at least. That could be disastrous for all the linked pics we have here in the forums....UGH [img]modules/Forum/images/smiles/icon_confused.gif[/img] [img]modules/Forum/images/smiles/icon_rolleyes.gif[/img] Doing this should also "lighten" the load on the server for the site as well. That should result in the site moving faster for members also. least we're looking for this move to make a difference in that area by doing this. The albums should be moved completely to the new server by the end of next week also.

So for the albums, will they be down at all during the swap or is it business as usual in regards to the placement of pics in the albums?

Also, can't wait to see it all finished up and running!

(I had a sneak peak a while back also! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA!)

natas hasn't said anything about them being done ..yet. Would think if they are would only be for a short time like an hour or so while he tx's it all maybe The albums will/should stay as they are np..It's just the server that's being changed is all for them.

I believe it stands for "transfer" in this case [img]modules/Forum/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif[/img]

OH MY! I think if it were to be all copied was all, then Shane would have a tad more than just an hour or two timewise for it to get completed..hehe. More like a month or two IMO lol

Ldy is right.. The tx stood for transfers.

Would actually be ridiculous to try and copy all the albums over to a new server. Especially when all ya gotta do is TRANSFER it all [img]modules/Forum/images/smiles/icon_eek.gif[/img]

trnasfer means to move files. LOL....when I move files from one machine to another...I COPY them from one machine to another then delete them off the first machine once they are safely in place. Otherwise any number of things can cause file corruption and a whole platter full of headache. SO...This is why I had the word copy stuck in my head while reading this...sorry cx on. LOL...I was just Wxing
