Whats new?

Well you guys are probally wondering whats new, so I thought I would point out a few things to everyone:

First the site speed is much faster. Hopefully you noticed this.

Next we have a new function called "Similar threads". Anytime a message is posted, the forum gathers relevant data about that post and finds other posts that have similar data. When viewing a thread scroll to the very bottom and you will see the option. This should help out newbies when trying to find information.

We now have a reputation system. When viewing a thread your will see all these little icons next to a user. One of them is Reputation Power. Click that and you can comment on the users post. If he is way off topic you can nail him for that, or if the reply was good give him a positive rating.

We also have a thread rating system. This lets you rate a thread from 1-5 stars. If you really like a thread and where its going give it 5 stars. This way people can see the rating at the top and see that its a very important thread.

Our Review sections is much better now. This should allow you guys to find and post reviews with ease.

Classifieds got a face lift. Some features are actually missing, while new features being enabled. We will keep enhancing the classifieds when time comes. Until then please take advantage of our free classifieds.

One major change that I am sure alot of you will enjoy is the "Subscriptions". We now can subscribe to a single thread or a whole forum! With this option comes the ability to have the system email you right away when a reply is made or send out a daily email about it. All of this can be controlled in the "User CP".

A added bonus to the site is the "New Post" section. This section will show you the "New Post" since you last logged in.

And last but not least we finally have a Calendar thats intergrated perfectly into the website. Just click the Calendar link above to post a event. Events can be herp shows, or anything reptile related you want others to know about.

Todays Birthdays is a neat new little feature. Go to your User CP at the top and check out all the options in there. You now have a section to put in your birthday and the system will let everyone know if your birthday is that day.

There are also a ton of other features that I could mention here. If I think of any more that are really important I will let you know.

I almost forgot. We have a system in place to report bad post. If you look to the top right side of the post from a user you will have a option to report bad post. Hopefully this will be benefical to our moderators and admins.

I would also like to point out that the Gallery is alot easier to use with the new site as well. Way to go Natas!!!!!

haha that was actually a side effect to the conversion. Since we are now using a different forum we now have the gallery as a seperate site.

Speaking of the gallery, we are eventually moving away from "Albinator" to a new and way more improved gallery. This gallery fully intergrates into the site without the extra scroll bars. It will be a while though since it will take some pretty extreme conversion scripts to change. I am expecting atleast 1 month before we move to the new system.

I have always liked Vbulls features, very fast, smooth and functional, especially the 'ignore user' feature in others profiles

So I noticied I can only attach 4 images in one post, otherwise I got an error that I had too many attachments. Is this going to be the standard number of attachments going forward?

I also got scolded for trying to post more than one message every 30 seconds... I can see why this is enforced, but I thought I should point it out none-the-less. BTW, I like this new layout & system so far!

I can change it to allow every 15 secs, this is enforced for flooding. But I can cut it in half. I will also up the amount of images per post to a few more. But I myself and not a fan of a post with 20 images in it

Ok I knocked the time between post to 15 seconds. That should be fine I think.

I also set the max pics per thread to be 10, I also set it to automagically create thumbnails. This will help when viewing a thread with 5+ images. They will show up as thumbnails and then you will have the ability to click and enlarge.

also, when i was searching new posts, it said i couldn't do more than one in 30 seconds.

ya, i noticed that too..drives me nuts sometimes cause i can be pretty quick to draw...but its all good, im sure all staff have their hands full atm..
