Hello, as always you guys have been a source of great knowlege, but anyway I have seen this discussed but don't remember where, so here goes, please excuse me for repeating. I have a 2 year old female boa, Almost 5 feet, I was told yesterday that I need to start feeding her out of her enclosure, as she will get testy, but I have also heard others say it doesn't matter. Any thoughts or reasons behind this to clarify the "Why" would be great. As always, thanks in advance. Sheila

ive been reading here n there that nutritionally (less fat / more protein) rabbits are better than rats as food.
my largest girls are all on jumbo rats every 2 weeks.... these rats are pretty monstrous sized. i think she may very well go onto rabbits. but is a small rabbit better than a jumbo (id say oversized) rat?
also one of my girls has 0 feeding response. i can dangle a rat it front of her and she will not take it, she hides. i have to leave it in front of her hide and moments later i can see that she housed it (while no one looks, of course). ive seen her come out of the hide and inspect it, she checks out the head, down to the tail a few times... sometimes she will go back into her hide (probably cause im lookin). do you think she will be a problem to switch out? being that i dont really entice her or anything, she just kinda takes it after she inspects and approves (she has left it there before, and ive had to throw away). i wanna try rabbits on all of them anyway, if it is better for them that is. my rodent dude wont sell me rabbits as he says he only sells large rabbits, larger being too big i presume. theyd have to be little rabbits, at a pound and a half to 2 pounds. any advice on good rabbit providers?

I am wondering if anyone has a good method of installing pvc perches in a Exoterra/Zoomed terrarium for a GTP. Aside from siliconing two sets of those closet rod sockets in there. I'm thinking of using them but dont want to glue or silicone them. Maybe theres another way? Suction cups?

Im used to using tubs and melamine which you can bolt through or screw into.

Any help would be appreciated.

Rhacodactylus ciliatus vs. Calabaria reinhardtii

I know It is seems to be a silly question... but can I keep my two Rhacodactylus cilliatus in the same enclosure with my Calabaria reinhardtii?

Yesterday I broke the enclosure of my geckos, and now they are in a small box. I've ordered their new home, but it takes 2 weeks til it arrives... And my snake's enclosure is quite big... :D

As I know, burrowing pythons never eat lizards in the nature, so I guess, he won't eat them.

So, do you think it is possible to keep them together for 2 weeks?

Hello I am trying to choose between getting a BD or a BTS the only issue with the BTS is that it can bite (is this common? and if so is getting a baby and raising a way to make it not do this?) and that it is hard to get a hold of one that is not SUPER EXPENSIVE! Anyone know any great breeders that can ship BTS to the midwest for a relatively low price? Please tell me! Also this will be my first reptile!

Thre Questions:

1- if you had to chose between a 4 day cross country drive with two adult snakes from NY to LA vs. shipping the snakes and flying to meet them out there, in August . . . which do you think is safer?

2- if shipping is a reasonable option (I really don't know if it is - August is hot), does anyone happen to know anybody in the NYC region who has shipped snakes before and would want to help me package them (happy to compensate however - within reason!). if not, i'm sure i can figure it out (there are plenty of tutorials online and you guys here), but since i've never done i want to make sure they are safe etc . . .

3- are there any passenger airlines that allow snakes to ship as cargo anymore?

I gave him Thursday, Friday and Saturday before I held him. I held him 10 minutes Sunday and Monday. When I went to get him out just now I saw a regurge! What do I do? Ambient cool side is 83°, ambient warm side is 87°, hot spot with temp gun when I checked was a little high at 95° but he was on the cool side of the tub, humidity is 70%. He is in a back room with hardly any traffic. I'm doing my best to give him what he needs. What am I doing wrong?
