bullsnake food
I went out to a small field near my work to take a few pics of the wild prairie dogs that live in the area. Most of these guys were within 100 feet of me. Once I parked my car, they all jumped a little, but calmed down quickly and ignored me.
The little guy on the left seemed to be the one watching out for the whole colony. He didn't seem too concerned about my presence.
When I was in the middle of taking a few more pics of the same prairie dog, this truck just popped up in one of them. Not more than 20 feet behind him is a major 6-lane road. They don't even seem the least bit concerned. Obviously, they're smart enough to avoid the big roads, I've never seen them DOR on any major roads.
Not paying much attention to the human...

Very nice pictures. As for the last one, I think he was telling you to go about your own business.

mine would bark when he wanted to play. i was never into them really. but when we first got this guy, he was forsale in the petshop we owned. he would unlock his cage, (without me knowing) and wander the whole store until he found me, then proceed to follow me until i picked him up. all i had to do was extend my leg, and he would run right up to my shoulder. they sure can climb, but have no sense of hight. so needless to say, i had to take him home with me

They're illegal to sell nation-wide currently, that may be why you don't see them much.
I have four myself. Its like having small, furry children.

Most mammals are 'prone' to it, they just happened to come in contact with it by accident (or rather, by poor quarantine procedures by a wholesaler who had infected gambian rats). Banning prairie dogs was nothing but a kneejerk reaction.
