what kind of bedding are you using? I find aspen or a very light pine works. Anything like cedar will kill them.

I used to cut corners and house my rodents with my snakes, but my rodents always seemed to escape.. never found out why though ... just odd...

Sounds like either too hot or not enough ventilation for them.
Keeping them in a glass tank or a wire type cage?

isn't cedar supposed to be bad for all animals?

Both cedar and pine are toxic to small mammals, they contain aromatic compounds which cause severe liver damage over time, contribute to respiratory infections and allergies. Your mice would be healthier on aspen or Carefresh (recycled newspaper). The mice should have a steady supply of appropriate food, probably lab block is best for feeders. They also require a source of clean water at all times, as a mouse can become dehydrated and die overnight from lack of water. Make sure the temperature stays in the 70s. Also, make sure there's no cloth or string they can get their paws on, these materials are generally indigestible and can cause deadly intestinal blockage. All that said, good luck!

Sounds like a respiratory infection dont know for sure though? For my rats I bought a paper shredder and shred newspaper its a cheap alternative and dont contain any oils that can be pased on to your reptiles. good luck
