They are wonderful. I remember a book I read as a child called "Misty of Chincoteague" - don't know if I spelled it right. But this is Assateague, it's another island near Chinco-whatever, right?
I adore horses. Used to have one. Used to be able to ride him bareback at full gallop.

Chinoteague Island is just to the west of Assateague Island. The wild ponies today reside on Assateague and once a year some are rounded-up and auctioned off on Chinoteague. The proceeds fund the fire station on Chinoteague.
