Monkey Business!
I have always been wary and "behind the fence" about monkeys. I have seen so many programs about them, a lot of them not encouraging at all. Some of them real horror stories too.
A friend of mine who works at the animal section of an entertainment/pond fishing park here has acquired a monkey to care for and try to teach some manners. She is a black-handed spider monkey about three years old.
Pix coming....!!!!!

Re: Monkey Business!
I remember working with a Black-Handed. She was sweet, made little vocal noises and loved that caramel candy stuff. Cant remember the name. I remember trying to pet her once and she screamed for like 30 minutes. Nothing violent, just a loud, high pitch AH!
Wasnt too bad. The other monkeys I didn't care much for..

Re: Monkey Business!
When I was a youngster, I had a squirrel monkey. The critter was very cool, very clean, and quiet. We lost it after 7 years, but it saved our lives doing so. We had it on a trip to south virginia when it came down sick and died. Further investigation showed it was an exhaust leak in the van.

It's sad that your little monkey died like that, but you were lucky to have it (he,she?) for seven years! I am sure he/she had a great life with you.

This was the highlight of the holiday season for me. The rest of my life is really not such a great adventure at all, but you have made me want to make it into one, and thanks for the push start!! Never too late.
