Since Xeikeness was sharing so will I
Well so to add to the daily cuteness alotment here's pics of my new pet opossum, Oracle. She's named Oracle because of her scientific name Didelphis virginiana. The name "delphis" is Latin for womb, but also refers to Delphi, a Greek city which had a wise woman named the Oracle. Yes I'm a big nerd.

Re: Since Xeikeness was sharing so will I
Mmmm, reminds me of some of the meals I have when I lived in Western VA.
Those folks would have had a cow if someone told them they had a pet opossim.

you do mean the western part of the state of Virginia, right? Not the state West Virginia? lol
cause I have come across a few people in my day that didn't know West Virginia was a state.
I was just wondering by the way the word "western" had a capital 'W'.

Re: Since Xeikeness was sharing so will I
I rescued some REALLY small babies about 11 years ago...the mom was killed and her babies were about 3 inches long and didn't last long unfortunately.
I would love to have either a coon or a possum for a pet, my mom had a coon when she was a girl and loved it.
I just don't know where i would get one, besides raiding some nest lol, which I wouldn't do!!
He/she is adorable!!
OOps, this is leoares...darn it

Though I did also live on Muddy Creek Mountain outside Alderson W. VA for a time, I was talking about Western Virginia in regard to eating Opossim. I spent about a year in Saltville VA studying the history there.
