Well, I promised pics of feeding the new baby raccoon, so here it is.
My men wanted me to name him "SPaghetti" after a.... well, after a character in "Aqua Teen Hunger Force"... But I felt that that was setting up the baby's life for doom.
So we compromised. His name, Gneudals, is pronounced "Noodles".
I uploaded this onto photobucket so everyone can see.

It's so adorable... After he's eaten his fill, he puts his nose in the air, gets the hiccups, and crashes harder than a beardie when you click off his light.
To avoid him getting overheated or chilled, he lives in my shirt. At night, he sleeps between my chin and shoulder(thank the gods I've raised many many many baby animals this way, I sleep like a brick; entirely unmoving.
And, I wake up to animal sounds. o.O Or baby sounds... I think my maternal instincts are constantly on overdrive. I even wake up when a kitten is meowing upstairs. lol
It's fun though, I tell ya what... 4.30am, he wakes up, wanting to be pottied and fed. Then at 6.45. Then at 8.45. Then at 11, then he's done until 2pm. Then he wants to be fed and pottied at 4pm, and then he's done until 11pm. o.O
He has the oddest schedule. But is ok, I don't mind. The animal mommy role suits me well. At least baby 'coons don't scream nonstop wanting to be bounced and rocked and walked around the apartment all at once. They poo, they pee, they eat, then they crash out completely. Yay!!!

I think that sound is a sound of contentment. He makes that sound when I rub his belly, potty him, or scratch his back. He also makes that sound after his hiccups go away. He falls asleep with his nose in my ear, making that sound sometimes.
He needs to be stimulated in order to potty. A warm, wet cloth rubbed on his potty end does the trick just fine. Like cats, raccoons eat that stuff from the babies to keep the nest clean.

Right now he's eating Esbilac, which is a small animal milk replacer. Once his eyes open, he'll be switched to KMR until he's weaned.

you know, it's funny, I told my husband that I wanted a racoon like a month ago...my mom had one when she was a teen and she loved it! Now you have one...weird.
