Over the past few days her bum is flipping inside out. My local exotic pet store said just use Preparation H, said it was Hemorroids. Befor I do this I want some feedback.

Re: Ferret Health Problem
I would take her to a qualified vet... she may have parasites or some other health problem. Good luck!!

Re: Ferret Health Problem
I have yet to encounter that. I'd see a vet if you really think it's health is in question. How long has this been going on? Is it acting differently? Licking the sore or anything like that?

I would still take her to the vet instead of thinking she will be fine...

Re: Ferret Health Problem
That's a prolapse. Its common in baby ferrets who are fed a kibble diet too young or in young ferrets who are stressed. It can show up in older animals, but its most common in pet store ferrets given the conditions they're made to live in. Prep H is the way to go. Keep it clean and medicated, it'll clear up in a few days or off to the vet you go.

Re: Ferret Health Problem
That's a prolapsed rectum, and it means that your fuzzle's diet is improper -- her stools are so thick and heavy that they're pushing her colon out of her anus when she tries to defecate.
It's not a good condition, and you should certainly have a vet look at it. Certainly at-home topical creams aren't going to effectively deal with this: they may prevent it from getting worse, but certainly can't prevent it from getting better.
Schedule a vet appointment. And, if it starts bleeding, if she starts displaying extreme discomfort while pooping, or if she stops pooping altogether, drag her in as an emergency case -- all of those symptoms are signs that she needs a surgical correction.
Best of luck.

Re: Ferret Health Problem
Its been over a month and I got a 2nd Ferret.... then a 3rd! there just so cute I keep buying them! (but no 3 is enough for me) she is doing good. I did take her to a vet and they gave me some cream and changed her diet.
Now they love jumping off the end of the bath tub into the water, playing with my 2 dogs and 2 cats and love to hide my wifes jewelry (still cant find her wedding ring ) they are just balls of... trouble!!! hehe jk we love them. Thanks for all your help and sorry again for taking so long to get back to yall.
