My brother wants a monkey, but I explained to him why it is cruel.
What is another mammal that is similar to a monkey, but not a cruel to keep?

The thing with sugargliders is they need to bond to someone or something. If he were not to give the attention it needed its health would fail.
If he really wants monkeys, Give him some SEA MONKEYS.
No really, Monkeys are not as cute and friendly as they look, there messy and obnoctious [sic] to say the least and need a large incloser to keep them occupied and intertained.
The sugar glider will be easier to get legal or illegally. We have many ppl with ferrets here in CA. and no one is breaking down doors to take them away.

Why is it cruel to have a monkey? It's cruel to remove one from it's mother and family unit if it has one, but if that's in the past and it needs a home...and your brother can provide all it needs, how is that cruel? Owning a sugar glider or any other animal will be just as cruel if he can't or won't satisfy their needs.
