They are lovely looking critters, I've wanted some myself for a while, though here there even more expensive than the ones you found.
Still heres a link to some basic info for you. Hope it helps http://skinhorse.net/gliders/

My sister has a pair. They were dumped on her by someone who didn't want them anymore. Apparently it's best to keep them together, so if you go for it, consider buying two.
They are cute, but defnitely research them thoroughly before getting involved with that particular critter. Their diet is almost as complex as my iggy's diet, and it's just as hard, if not harder, to find a vet competent enough to treat them.
And they stink... especially so when the little males pee on you. Don't get me wrong... I LOVE the way ferrets smell... SG's are no ferrets
And they are nocturnal, so it's best not to play with them too much during the day and let them sleep. Instead of preparing their diet in the morning, you'll be preparing it in the evening, which might be a bit easier. But they will be up all night making a lot of noise.
Sorry for the negativity... I have to play devil's advocate on this one. If you really look into all aspects of it, and still think gliders are the pet for you, then that's great! They need more good advocates in this world. Just make sure you really look into it before getting involved in this particular pet craze.

Thanks everyone... i had a feeling that they could smell...lol but i dont mind haha... i thought about getting two because i heard they were social animals and such they still sound really nice pets... they would probably be in the family room or office/computer room so the noise wont be that bad at night i dont think...thanks for the links and info everyone... i will deffinatly look into them before buying them...i am not really one to buy on impulse lol i thinkn they all need the proper time and care and if you cant give them that then you dont need them... if you want one... research them and buy them at the next show or off the net or local breeder... well anyways thanks again

Thank you all again... they are certainly something i would like to keep and maybe oneday try my hand at breeding... I always do my research beforehand... If i dont know anything about them and the show isnt for another year i will wait because what would be the point in buying it not knowing how to care for it properly and it not serviving or having to pay vet bills or something because of selfishness and stupidity that you couldnt wait to get one. Hopefully i will get one in the near future but until then i will be soaking in any knowledge about them i can lol thanks again

If you want them to bond to each other and not to you get a pair.
In my area you need to get a permit to breed them. It is a $1000 fine per baby if you get caught. So make sure you don't need aone.
We had an elderly lady that came in that owned one. That little thing was so bonded to her she'd bite any other hand that went close to her.

I think that, federally, you need a permit to breed them. If I remember right, sugar glider breeding and selling is monitered by the USDA... (?). There was a big war about them last year when a woman tried selling them in a kiosk in the mall and one of the arguments used was that you have to be licensed to breed and sell them. I'm not entirely sure how it works, since I'm not really into gliders OR breeding, but definitely do your research on that end of it, too.

There are no such breeding laws here in Texas i hope. LOL I have a pair that i was trying to sell far a while and now they have a little one. The young one has not came out of the mothers pouch but it is moving around alot and boy is the mother protective. LOL Hope you find some a a good price. They are fun once they bond to you but me being the snake guy i really dont like to play with them. They are my wifes little project.
