Unfortunately they are still illegal here in Calif, there has been several organizations fighting to make them legal here in Calif,.

They do make excellent pets a g/f had 3 of them for a sort while as rescues but had to give them up after my g/f son became allergic to there dander . they have great personallities

they are soo much fun aren't they? mine love leaping from under the entertainment center and attacking your ankles..... My female is a clepto as well... she steals anything and everything.... she constantly steals my insoles from my work boots, socks, shirts, she even managed to carry one of those long skinny pool float tubes to the other side of the house and hide it.....

I loved my ferrets growing up. I had 3: 1 albino and 2 normal masked ones. Unfortunately, I had to put one to sleep from an incurable eye disease and another died from a strange disease that was also intreatable. I still have Skylar left though! She's getting pretty old though...about 10 now.

they are actually related to the skunk the most...lol....they have the scent glands that skunks have...they are in the same family as the weasel and possum...they are actually alot smarter than dogs or cats and not only need to be given physical stimulation but also mental stimulation....giving them little obstacles is always good...i love how they will turn anything and everything into a game...ill drag a towel across the floor and they will jump on and go for a ride...and then fall off and dook their happy little butts off

ferrets are awesome! i would get one but our roommate has an old cat and i dont know how they would get along. my best friend has one and she has the run of the house. shes always out, i dont think she even has her cage anymore. she loves to get into our purses when we come over and steal things!

I really wish they would legalize them here in Ca. Do they seem to bother snakes?

well theres not really such thing as a wild ferret but they would eat small lizards snakes small mammals etc but it depends on what snakes you have and how strong the cage is and as long as you supervize(*which youre supposed to anyway lol*) youll be fine........
