Re: What color is this??
Looks like what they call a lilac? I'm not sure. If it opens its eyes and has red eyes, that's what it is.

Re: What color is this??
he doesnt have red eyes, but it might be a fawn. however, without knowing the genetics of the parents idk if i can call it "whatever color mutation" without knowing the lineage, if its a recessive gene.

Re: What color is this??
The blue female does look pregnant. But I can't tell with my own rats until the last week.
I have two litters right now. The litter of 13 turned 2 weeks today and is identical to your litter 'cept for the 'fawn' baby.
The second litter is only a few days old and am hoping for some dumbo's. I bred a daughter of my dumbo male back to him in hopes of big eared babies.
Rat babies are so cute!

Re: What color is this??
I have a GIANT dumbo blue male we named Templeton and he frequently producese fawn babies, like the three in the picture by Python to black hoodeds and solids. One of these days I need to get a picture of him. He's massive and all his babies are huge. I outcrossed his daughters, and then started breeding the babies of his daughters back to him to try and breed for super huge rats. I'll let you know how that goes lol but he weighs at least 2 lbs. He's a beast!

Re: What color is this??
Very awesome litters!
I actually had a litter about a month ago with 3 that looked like your mystery rat. They ended up having black eyes, with champagne-ish fur. They're slightly more...gray? than the other champagnes.

Re: What color is this??
That baby is a fawn we used to breed rats for a petstore as pets and did a lot of different colorations. My mom's favorite rat looked like that baby and it was her fawn. The Blue rat is most definately preggo lol wtg

Re: What color is this??
Back when I was in college (& long before I got into snakes!) I had a family of pet rats like that! Some call it champagne, or buff or fawn...whatever! The natural 'agouti' rat fur is a mixture of that & black/gray, so you get a recessive fawn now & then when the dark colors are missing; 'blue' is missing black & brown (-or fawn)!

Re: What color is this??
It's what I call a "Caramel" like Alpha.
I've Fulls, Aberrants, Stripes, you name it.
They look like Blue's when they're fuzzies, but become more and more tan (just short of brown) as they age.
Here's Alpha.

Re: What color is this??
He's proven HET for 5 different morph combinations and the size of a small cat, lol.
Great temperament though. Very viable breeder too.
