EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE MIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITES!!!!

So, somehow, half of my collection is infested(INFESTED) with mites. I brought Fei out to show someone, though Fei was being wriggly so I put her away. I just -happened- to be headed to the restroom, and noticed all these black dots around my neck. I leaned in close and they were MOVING.

I shrieked so loud I scared myself. Not sure how I did it, but I managed to litterally JUMP out of my clothes and was in a HOT shower before I'd even finished shrieking.

Unfortunately, it was well after store hours, and couldn't do anything about it for the snakes imediately... first thing this morning though, went and got a can of provent-a-mite and sprayed my ENTIRE room with it, got the snakes soaking and did their cages too...

Sigh... I don't know howthey got mites... I feel like such a bad mommy fo a.) it happening at all and b.) for not noticing it sooner.

Repel Permanone (without the deet) is great stuff. It's at Walmart and usually a little cheaper (in my experience). Best of luck with it.

That jumping out of cloths into hot showers thing sounded pretty interesting though....lol...where are the pix...lmao

Seems lots of people are getting mites these days. Makes me nervous. I don't know where they come from, but I'm not so quick to handle the snakes at the reptile store any more. I am wondering if my two can get them too just with the regular routines around here.

Repel works the best for me. No way am I gonna pay $20 for a can of Provent-A-Mite when Repel has the same ingredient in it for only $5 a can.

The only issue with Repel is the FDA warning regarding using the product for anything OTHER than its intended use...Says the girl who uses 5% Sevin Dust to pretreat her cypress substrate..lol
