my dog just pooped blood but is acting healthy any ideas what it could be if you need more info just ask i dont want to take her to the er vet if it can wait till morning but i will if i have to its just 300 to walk in the door

i just talked to the er vet they told me she probley has hook worm she got it last year to given that she is acting fine eating and drinking said to bring a stool sample in in the morning to check but no need for a er visit tonight

Was it a lot of blood or trace amounts? That's good that the vet was able to talk to you over the phone! $300 is a lot! Our emergency vet is $80 and I think that's expensive! Of course, when I've had to take the little guys, I've done it in a heartbeat Little boogers! LOL!

Oh my I didn't see this...
How is the dog??? Was the stool loose??? And was it red blood?? Red blood is ok, where black or digested blood is not. Sometimes just straining can cause capillaries to break.
Where is the dog going where s/he is picking up hooks???

Has the loose stools continued??? If it has you can try chicken and rice and Immodium (dosage depends on weight). And make sure you get fecal done on her.
Is she on a monthly heartworm preventitive????

yeah she still has loose stooles ill try the chicken and rice the vet said they probley wont b able to get me the results till monday there relly buissy but they said they will call today if it is a emergency and they find somthing relly wrong and thanks for the help
